چکیده

A high-level test generation algorithm SWIFT is proposed which incorporates a symbolic scheduling procedure, derived from high-level synthesis applications, to resolve decision conflicts during test generation. SWIFT uses the induced fault model to generate functional tests that guarantee detection of low-level structural faults. When applied to functional models of representative 74Xseries, ISCAS-85 and ISCAS-89 circuits, SWIFT produces test sequences that cover all gate-level stuck-at faults. Surprisingly, although they are derived from a high-level functional description of the circuit under test, most of these test sequences are of provably minimal or near-mini-

Towards Global Scheduling and Register Allocation Using Predicated Execution

This paper presents an approach for register allocation and scheduling which relies on three main ideas: global optimization, solution space exploration and on-the-fly generation of a symbolic state machine. To allow global optimizations while preserving semantics, the traditional notion of control dependence is replaced by the notion of predicate. In our approach, predicates are used not only ...

A Parallel Approach to Concolic Testing with Low-cost Synchronization

This paper presents a practical approach to parallelize the test data generation algorithm by which computing resources can be fully used. The test data generation approach that we are using is based on the dynamic symbolic execution (concolic testing). The basic idea of parallelizing the algorithm is to distribute analysis processes of different paths to different computing units. Although a c...

Verification of Scheduling in the Presence of Loops Using Uninterpreted Symbolic Simulation

We propose a novel procedure based on uninterpreted symbolic simulation for checking the scheduling step in high-level synthesis. The primary task in scheduling is the assignment of time steps or, equivalently, states to operations. Various transformations like operation reordering and loop unrolling may be performed in the process to meet the optimization criteria. The contribution of our prop...

Symbolic Analysis: A Basis for Parallelization, Optimization, and Scheduling of Programs

This paper presents an abstract interpretation framework for parallelizing compilers. Within this framework, symbolic analysis is used to solve various ow analysis problems in a uniied way. Symbolic analysis also serves as a basis for code generation optimizations and a tool for derivation of computation cost estimates. A loop scheduling strategy that utilizes symbolic timing information is als...
